Artwork Guidelines
A few quick tips to get the best result.
What to upload
Send a clear photo or image that shows the subject as you want it interpreted. We’ll trace and simplify it for embroidery, so lighting and color accuracy aren’t critical — clarity and subject visibility are.
Accepted file types: JPEG, PNG, WEBP, and AVIF. HEIC files are great as well, but may not preview in carts and order history on every browser.
If you’re unsure, just email your file to hello@bestiethreads.com and we’ll confirm it’s workable.
Composition tips
Crop in close to what matters most. We’ll simplify backgrounds or remove them entirely as directed in your order's artist notes.
Centered, high-contrast subjects trace best. Try to avoid blurry or dim photos where edges are hard to see.
Text and lettering
For products that support it, simple, bold fonts reproduce best in thread. Hairline or script fonts under about a quarter inch tall may be thickened slightly to stitch cleanly.
Please double-check spelling, capitalization, and punctuation before submitting... unless the misspellings are the cutest part!
Ownership and content
Only upload material you own or have rights to use. By uploading, you confirm you have permission for us to trace and reproduce it as embroidery art.
We can’t accept content that’s illegal, hateful, or explicit and reserve the right to request an alternative image if we're not comfortable with the subject matter.
Preview and revisions
Artwork preview is optional at checkout. One minor tweak is included if you choose to review before production. If there’s no response within 48 hours, we’ll move ahead to keep your order on schedule.
Need a second opinion?
If you’re unsure which image will translate best, send two or three options to hello@bestiethreads.com and we’ll tell you which one will trace cleanest.
